Step 1 of 4: a guest enters an invitation code, the only way to create an account.

In short
We built the official attendee app of Colombia Tech Fest, a product the festival owns. Guests joined by invitation only, then found a live agenda, a directory, 1:1 meetings, chat, offline maps and notifications in one place, while the organizers ran it with admin tooling. Built for the event's peak concurrency, the app is ready for future editions.

01 The context

## Thousands of guests, no open door

Colombia Tech Fest needed one app to bring together the agenda, networking and messaging for thousands of invited guests. The guest list was closed, so there could be no open public signup: every account had to start from an invitation. And the app had to hold up at the event's peak, when most guests connect at the same time.

02 Design and build

## Four steps in, then the whole festival

Access starts with an invitation. A first-time guest enters the invitation code, accepts the privacy policy, creates a password and completes a profile: four steps, visible on screen from the start. After that, guests sign in with the email and password of their Fest account. The app has no public signup form.

Inside, a tab bar leads to home, map, agenda, networking, chat and a personal calendar. The agenda updates live, maps work offline, and guests receive notifications and save favorites. In networking, a guest searches the directory, opens a profile with role, industry, company and 30-minute meeting slots, requests a meeting and continues in a 1:1 chat. Behind the scenes, admin tooling lets the festival run its own product.

Networking in the app: find an attendee, check their 30-minute availability, then continue in a 1:1 chat.

### Invite-only by design

Every account starts from an invitation code and four clear steps. The festival knows who gets in, and there is no open signup to moderate.

-
02

### Meetings in 30-minute slots

Profiles show role, industry, company and availability in 30-minute blocks, so guests see when someone is free before they request a meeting and move to chat.

-
03

### Offline maps, live agenda

Maps work without a connection and the agenda updates live, so the app stays useful on site even when the network drops.

04

### A product the festival owns

Invitations, favorites, meetings, chat and admin tooling form one product that belongs to the festival, ready for its future editions.

04 Outcomes

## Ready for the next editions

Guests had a complete, live attendee experience in a single app, from the invitation to the last 1:1 chat, with no open signup. Because the product belongs to the festival and comes with its own admin tooling, it is ready for future editions.

- A complete live attendee experience in one app
- Invite-only access, with no open public signup
- Offline maps and a live agenda for every guest
- An owned product, ready for future editions
