This policy covers the ri-PITE app (Android package com.slash.ripite), not the slash-digital.io website. It explains what the app uses, why, with whom, and how to ask for access or deletion.

| Account | Email address, access code, account status and the date tied to the quotes feature. We use them to check that the email is authorized and to keep you signed in. They are stored in Firebase (Google), in a project located in europe-west. |
| Progress | The words you save and whether a pronunciation attempt matched the target word. Stored in Firestore, in your user-words, so the app can show your list and your progress. |
| Microphone and voice | The app asks for the microphone to analyze your pronunciation. The recording is sent to our server to convert the audio and produce a transcript (OpenAI's speech-to-text API). The transcript is compared with the target word. We do not use the recording to identify you or to build a voiceprint. We do not sell it. A voice recording can be sensitive data under Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012. We process it only for that pronunciation check, with the authorization you give by using the microphone. |
| Analytics | Firebase Analytics records which screens and actions are used, so we can understand how the app is used. We do not show ads and we do not use AdMob. The app does not use the camera, photo library or notifications to provide the service. |
| Purposes and legal bases | Providing the app to PEPS customers who have an access code; checking pronunciation; storing progress; keeping the account secure; measuring how the app is used. In Colombia, the authorization you give when you sign in and when you record (Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1377 of 2013). In the EU: performing the service you request (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and, for the voice recording, your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9 where it applies). Analytics relies on our legitimate interest in improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f)); you can object by writing to us. |
| Processors and transfers | Google Firebase (authentication, database, analytics and storage; europe-west, with possible further processing by Google in other countries), our audio-conversion server on Heroku, and OpenAI for the transcript. Heroku and OpenAI may process data in the United States. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models by default and may keep API inputs for up to 30 days to detect abuse, unless zero retention applies. Transfers from the EU rely on the safeguards the GDPR requires (the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses, depending on the provider). |
| Retention | Account and progress: while access remains active and, after that, for as long as needed to handle a deletion request or a legal duty. Recordings: we do not keep a library of your voice in the app. Temporary files on the conversion server are removed in the ordinary course of that processing. OpenAI may keep the API input for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. If you ask us to delete your data, we delete the account and the progress except what the law requires us to keep. |

| Children | ri-PITE is for adults who receive an access code from their organization. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it. |
| Security | The connection is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to the database is limited to operating the app and to the people who administer the project. If a security incident affects your data, we will notify the competent authority and the people affected as the law requires. |
| Effective date | This policy applies from October 30, 2026. Any material change will be published on this page with its date. The previous app page was not kept when the website was rebuilt; this is the policy in force. |

The questions we hear often
Do you sell recordings or email addresses?
No. We do not sell personal data.
Do you keep my voice?
Not as a library in the app. The recording is sent so that attempt can be transcribed and compared with the word. Temporary files on the conversion server are removed in the ordinary course of that processing.
How do I delete my account?
Write to ripite@mypeps.net or contact@slash-digital.io from the account email. We delete the account and the progress, except what the law requires us to keep.
Does this cover the website?
No. slash-digital.io has its own notice. This page is only the ri-PITE app.
